Storage Precautions for Optical Molds

 

 

● Store in a dry, well-ventilated area with a constant, controlled climate to prevent condensation. A temperature range of 20–25°C and relative humidity below 40% is ideal for high-purity optical components.
● Before storage, break down the mold to remove resinous deposits, gas buildup, water stains, and color residue using proper solvents.
● Because optical molds are highly fragile and polished, they must be protected from mechanical damage using protective coatings or by wrapping them in protective foam.
● Use compressed air to fully dry all cooling channels, removing any water that could cause internal corrosion.
● Use dedicated storage racks, shelving, or pallets that can handle the mold's weight and maintain a safe, clean environment.
