Ten years ago, the leading automotive mold companies in China (Huangyan) were primarily represented by companies like FAW, Dongfeng, Tianjin Automotive, Nanjing Automotive, Chengdu Aircraft Industry Group, and mold teams from Taiwan. Investment in automotive molds was booming, with dozens of companies emerging, including a number of rapidly growing private enterprises. These new companies have far surpassed the leading companies of that era in both technology and production capacity. Huangyan's automotive mold sector has shown a positive development trend in recent years.
My country's automotive industry is developing well, with car sales growing at an annual rate of 26%. The scale of automotive parts production is even larger than that of complete vehicles, and 90% of these parts rely on mold production. This has significantly boosted the development of my country's automotive mold industry. Statistics show that in recent years, the scale of mold factories in my country has been expanding, with annual new investment of approximately 700 billion yuan. Automotive mold factories account for about 40% of this, indicating that investment in automotive molds has become one of the main drivers of investment in my country's mold industry.
My country's automotive mold industry started almost simultaneously with the automotive industry. In 1953, a stamping die workshop was established within the FAW Tool Factory, with a designed capacity of 320,000 man-hours per year, primarily responsible for manufacturing small and medium-sized stamping dies and repairing large body panel stamping dies. Entering the 21st century, my country's automotive mold industry has seen significant development. The design and manufacturing of passenger car body panel molds are characterized by high difficulty, high quality and precision requirements, and represent the best reflection of the level of automotive mold technology.
