Basic information about injection molds

Dec 01, 2025 Leave a message

The injection molding process can be broadly divided into the following six stages:

Mold closing, injection, pressure holding, cooling, mold opening, and product removal.

By repeating these processes, products can be produced in batches and periodically. The molding of thermosetting plastics and rubber also involves the same process, but the barrel temperature is lower than that of thermoplastics, while the injection pressure is higher. The mold is heated, and the material needs to undergo a curing or vulcanization process in the mold after injection, and then be demolded while still hot.

Currently, the trend in processing technology is towards high-tech directions. These technologies include: micro-injection molding, high-filler composite injection molding, water-assisted injection molding, the combined use of various special injection molding processes, foam injection molding, mold technology, and simulation technology.
